Character's Name: Joey Falco.
Mutant Nickname: Ricochet.
Mutant Power: Joey can alter the molecular structure of his skin and muscles, assuming a rubber-like quality. This enables him to bounce off of hard surfaces, deflect blows, and to some extent leap considerable heights.
Occupation: Former messenger and errand boy for the mutant mafia; now an assistant to private detective Regina Dawson, although still on Nocturne's payroll.
Gender: Male.
Age: Eighteen.
Height: 5' 8".
Hair Color: Reddish-blond.
Eye Color: Blue.
Physical Description: Joey is a stereotypical "freckle-faced youth". Although somewhat gawky and scrawny in appearance, he is more athletic than he looks, and his reflexes are quick.
Country/Hometown: Brooklyn, New York, USA.
Immediate Family: Mother, Nancy (divorced).
Personality: Joey's demeanor is about as bouncy as his mutation. He is cheerful, bright, curious, and extremely friendly. There is an innocent, if slightly naive, air about him. Good-hearted by nature, he is troubled by what he knows of Nocturne's dark doings, but he has long chosen to turn a blind eye to it for his own good.
Weaknesses: Because Joey's mutation only affects his soft tissues, his bones can still be broken even when he shifts into his "rubber" state. To avoid injury, he has had to learn how to land and impact with surfaces correctly.
Additional Skills: None to speak of, aside from an endearing personality that elicits trust. In fact, because of this very trait about him, Nocturne often put Joey in close contact with new personnel to test them.
Hobbies/Interests: Joey's favorite pastime is basketball, a sport in which his jumping abilities give him a tremendous edge. Like any typical teenage boy, he is also fond of various other sports, movies, rock music, and comic books.
Personal History: Although Joey's parents always faced financial difficulties and sometimes argued, his upbringing was fairly normal and happy--until his mutation manifested at age twelve. Repulsed, his father left Joey and his mother soon afterward. Nancy Falco struggled to raise Joey on her own, getting whatever work she could for three years. Then, after losing yet another job when Joey was fifteen, she turned to prostitution as a last resort.
Aware of the lengths his mother was going to in order to support him, Joey ran away from home, and like many other mutants, he found his way to Lusus Naturae. Pink took pity on him, and in spite of his youth, she gave him a job sweeping and cleaning in the bar. Although she tried (perhaps somewhat subconsciously) to keep Joey away from Nocturne's gang, Tiernan learned of the boy and took an interest in him. Joey was then "brought in". He was given a job as a messenger and errand boy, and paid a handsome salary--in cash--which enabled him to financially support his mother.
When private detective Regina Dawson infiltrated the mutant mafia, Joey became friends with her. After he discovered that she was working against Tiernan, he hesitantly chose to side with her, and she asked Nocturne to assign him as her personal assistant.
